Local CPA websites
To date, Massachusetts
communities have completed thousands of community
preservation projects using their CPA funds. Some Community
Preservation Committees have created their own web pages in order to share more
detailed information about CPA-related
happenings in their community. The Internet is one of the most
effective tools for sharing information about successful CPA projects,
helping citizens learn more about the community improvements their CPA funds
have contributed to and inspiring other communities as they plan their own
projects.
Below we have listed links to a few exemplary websites that might serve as
models or a source of inspiration for local CPCs statewide.
Acton
Acton’s CPC website has details about all the projects that have been
approved since the Act’s adoption, broken down by year, as well as links
to the original project proposals and the PowerPoint presentations given at
each Town Meeting.
Belchertown
Belchertown’s website not only lists and describes all the CPA projects
approved by Belchertown voters since the Act’s adoption, but it has
beautiful color photos of each project.
Newton
Newton’s
website has descriptions of every CPA project, with color photos, and also
includes detailed information about how past CPA projects have been funded,
with breakdowns for each CPA category. A new addition to the site is a
CPA feedback survey, which allows Newton
residents to evaluate the success of CPA in their community.
West Tisbury
West Tisbury’s website has information
about all the projects that will appear on the upcoming Town Meeting warrant,
including pictures, in order to inform voters in advance about the projects
they will be asked to approve.
