Franklin Town Council votes to put CPA on the ballot in November, 2007

Franklin's Town Council voted last night, September 5, 2007, to send CPA to the ballot this November. Voters there will be asked to consider a 3% CPA surcharge on local property taxes, with exemptions for the first $100,000 of residential property value and for low income families and low and moderate income seniors. Franklin joins Salem and Gloucester, two other cities voting on CPA this fall, with another seven towns scheduled to vote on CPA this coming spring, 2008.
