Two New Communities Set to Vote on CPA

April 28, 2011: Residents of Pelham recently completed a successful initiative petition campaign to place CPA on the town's spring municipal ballot. Pelham residents will be voting on implementing a 3% CPA surcharge, with exemptions for low-income families and low- and moderate-income seniors in the community, as well as for the first $100,000 of residential property value. Pelham voters will be casting their votes on Saturday, May 7th, 2011. Meanwhile, Town Meeting voters in Canton approved the CPA at Town Meeting on April 27th, sending the question to their municpal ballot for next April, 2012. Canton voters will be deciding whether to implement a 1% CPA surcharge, with exemptions for the first $100,000 of residential property value and for low-income families and low- and moderate-income seniors in the community.
