MHP's 'Housing Institute' Two-Day Intensive Workshop: Registration Available

May 31, 2011: Massachusetts Housing Partnership's (MHP) two-day intensive workshop is designed for local officials, planners, housing committees, community preservation committees, housing trusts, local housing advocates, and others who are working to provide housing options for their community. Planners who have attended in past years have applied for and received 10-12 credits toward certification maintenance from the American Institute of Certified Planners.

Among the sessions that will be offered during the two-day workshop are:

• Using Local Resources (including a discussion of how to use CPA funds for affordable housing) 
• Steps to Building Community Support for Affordable Housing
• Introduction to Affordable Housing Finance
• Understanding the Development Process: From Concept to Occupancy
• Finding a Good Site
• Nuts & Bolts of DHCD's Local Initiative Program (LIP)

Cost to attend, how to register
The cost to attend both days of the event is $125 per participant ($75 for one day) and includes meals.  Need-based scholarships are available.
