House Moves to Bolster CPA Trust Fund

Sept. 15, 2011: The House of Representatives passed an expanded gaming bill on Thursday (9/15) which included a provision for a portion of the state's gaming revenue to flow to the statewide CPA Trust Fund.

H. 3702 would include two revenue streams for CPA. First, two-percent of the up-front licensing fees for gaming facilities would be deposited into the CPA trust fund. Once the facilities were operational, 5% of the annual revenue from gaming would also be dedicated to CPA. The next step for the bill is the Senate, which may take up gaming by the end of the month.
