The Mystic River Watershed Association (MyWRA) in partnership with the City of Somerville will continue improvements of Blessing of the Bay Park, following a vision that was prepared under a previous CPA grant. This phase will entail the completion of 100% design and permitting to facilitate the creation of a one-half mile shared use community path by converting 0.61 acres of roadway to expand the area of the park. The project will also incorporate shade trees and green infrastructure to increase tree canopy and improve the health of the riverfront.

Continued preservation of the historic Grace Baptist Church, 59 Cross Street, owned by the Somerville Hispanic Association for Community Development. The funds requested in FY23 will continue weatherproofing and stabilization of the building’s exterior, including window restoration; gutters, and repointing of deteriorated masonry.

Additional funds to close a budget gap for the CPA-funded project to restore the bell tower of the building at 404 Broadway, the former Winter Hill Congregational Church now owned by Vida Real.

For updating the land use plan (Open Space plan) for the town of Southampton.

To hire a consultant to conduct a land use study and cemetery design of the Town-owned property adjacent to the Center Cemetery

The Historical Commission is seeking to extent the current Historical District. These funds will provide for a consultant experienced in this area

Southampton had soldiers in both the Revolutionary War and Civil War who are not buried in the town. This project would recognize them.

To replace and repair the grave markers of veterans of the Revolutionary and Civil Wars

Edwards Library holds many early important documents of the Town's history. These funds will provide for the purchase of a flatbed printer and for a technician skilled in document preservation

This project would allow for the gathering of information concerning the possible use of the discontinued railroad bed as a path for recreational and transportation uses by town's people.

Town Hall is an historic building. This assessment would enable the town to preserve the historic aspects of the building while making better use of it. This is the first phase

Purchased signs will designate the Center Historic District and Lockville Historic District

The Assessors Office holds copies of early maps and other materials which need review and preservation.

The Southampton Historical Society holds many artifacts from the early days of the Town. These can now be stored correctly.

This would fund the design for a small park on Town owned land on Helen Drive

The Housing Authority will work with the Pioneer Valley Planning Commission to prepare and conduct a housing survey to determine the housing needs of the town.

Trail signs will be obtained and installed in the Wolf Hill Sanctuary off Fomer Road.

This project would allow this area on which a conservation restriction was recently placed to be mapped and have basic information recorded.

With the preservation of the historic Larrabee School for use as Town Hall offices and a renovated Senior Center there were accessibility issues. This project will allow all to access all parts of the building.
