CPA Communities Win Majority Share of State LAND Grant Award

Dec. 6, 2012: The Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs (EEA) recently announced this year's open space LAND grants, and ten CPA communities received 95% of the total funding!

The CPA communities Amherst, Belchertown, Conway, Groton, Hopkinton, Middleton, Northampton, Southwick, Southampton, and Sudbury received a total of $2.86M in state funds. CPA provides communities with a local funding source for the required match, giving them a leg up when it comes to applying for grants like this one.

  • Mead's Corner Conservation Area, 88 acres, Belchertown
  • Elmwood Farm, 85 acres, Hopkinton
  • East Street Land Acquisition, 19 acres, Middleton
  • Broad Brook Gap, 80 acres, Northampton
  • Kellogg property, 134 acres, Southwick
  • Chicopee Row Woods, 109 acres, Groton
  • Southampton Greenway, 26 acres, Southampton
  • Pantry Brook Farm, 94 acres, Sudbury
