Milton Town Meeting puts CPA on the ballot

May 14, 2012: After more than an hour of discussion and debate, Milton Town Meeting voted 144 to 61 to put CPA on the November 6, 2012 ballot. Town Meeting chose a 1.5% local CPA surcharge with exemptions for the first $100,000 of residential property value, and low/moderate income property owners. Milton will join Great Barrington in voting on CPA this coming November; half a dozen other communities are also considering CPA elections for the fall.
