Need Help with Housing? The CPA Housing Guidebook is the Perfect Resource

MHP CPA Housing Guidebook 2016The CPA Housing Guidebook, distributed by the Massachusetts Housing Partnership (MHP), is an excellent resource for anyone who wants to learn how CPA funds can support local affordable housing initiatives. Originally published in 2008 in conjunction with Citizens Housing and Planning Association (CHAPA) and the Community Preservation Coalition, the guidebook was designed to help both new and experienced CPC members and communities better understand how they can use CPA as a powerful tool to help achieve local affordable housing goals.

Updated in 2016, the CPA Housing Guidebook’s many helpful chapters and appendices make it a go-to resource for learning about how to use CPA funds for affordable housing. The guidebook explains how communities can not only overcome obstacles in utilizing CPA funds, but also how they can continue to achieve their affordable housing goals after projects have been completed. Other chapters address specific legal considerations, as well as providing examples of several eligible activities for CPA funds.
