CPA Projects – Detailed Report

The Old Schwamb Mill complex is another of Arlington’s historic and cultural treasures, operating year-round programming for local residents as well as many visitors from around the country and the world. With this grant funding, the clapboard siding will be replaced on the remaining two sides of the barn structure. These clapboards, on the north and west sides of the structure, are in worse condition than was originally realized. As this is a continuing project, the applicant has experience with procuring the appropriate building materials and hiring contractors with the necessary expertise. This project will largely complete the restoration and stabilization of the barn’s envelope to preserve it for years to come as living history.
