Funds will be used to preserve the 320-foot tailrace in its current state and to fund hiring an Archaeological Monitor to conduct site observations during all phases of the project that entail subsurface excavations. The purpose of these observations will be to ensure buried resources are protected and, in the case of actual artifacts, that they are recovered and properly curated.
