The funds will help pay for the project’s sustainability efforts, including solar panel installation and electric vehicle charging stations. The development at 362-364 Main Street consists of 41 units of elder/disabled affordable rental housing at 362-364 Main Street. The entire development cost will be approximately $24,000,000 and the Community Preservation funds will leverage millions in state and private financing. The wait list for affordable senior housing in Acton continues to grow. The Acton Housing Authority currently has 99 local senior households on its waiting list. The project has been previously supported through Community Preservation Funds in 2020 and 2021 in the amount of $1,000,000.
