The Zeiterion Performing Arts Center is seeking to return a historically appropriate marquee to the front of its building for the first time since the mid-20th century. The marquee will feature a historically accurate appropriate design combined with modern functionality that will further define and enhance the historical character of the theatre and the neighborhood. This project will fund the next phase in the construction of the marquee.

The CPA funding will be used in support of the YWCA 13 Market Street structure for plumbing, new fixtures, new flooring, repair and painting of the walls, and replacement of furniture in the common areas

YWCA of Greater Newburyport will increase the number of available SRO units (from 10 to 11) and complete required upgrades throughout the existing building. The project includes: bathroom renovations, structural improvements (steel columns and treatment of powder post beetles), soundproofing and a new, energy-efficient heating system.

In 2016, YWCA was awarded $150,000 of CPA funds to develop the YWCA at Hillside. Since then, the project has experienced some delays. The overall planning for Hillside Center for Sustainable Living took longer than anticipated after permitting was completed. One of the major changes which resulted from the project planning phase was to adopt the Passive Housing Institute Standards of the US. Hillside decided to develop the project in compliance with these, more rigorous, standards which was not originally anticipated. These design changes contributed to the delay in construction of YWCA at Hillside. YWCA at Hillside, when completed, will be a 10 unit lodging house that is designed to meet Passive Housing Institute Standards of the US and be net zero. This led to a series of engineering issues that needed to be solved, for example, air flow, heating, cooling and de-humidification. Both the delays themselves and the technical solutions to the mechanical issues resulted in additional costs to the project. The YWCA is requesting CPA funding to help close project funding gaps.

Funds to support architectural and engineering services associated with the design and permitting of additional affordable units at an existing YWCA property.

To support the creation of ten (10) affordable housing units. Of these ten units, six (6) will be reserved for individuals whose income falls at or below 30% Area Median Income (AMI) and four (4) units will be for individuals whose incomes falls at or below 50% AMI. Two (2) units will be created for handicap accessibility.

Since the resurfacing of the Young School Tennis Courts back in 2015, the courts have grown even more popular than they were before. Due to regular usage, wear and tear and the weather, the courts need to be completely removed and redone. The current asphalt will be removed and a new court installed and lined and striped for 3 courts. The fencing will also need to be repaired where it can be or replaced. The DPW will be involved with this project to help when they can.

Creation of through-trail for hiking, connecting lands owned by the Town of Lenox, BNRC and Mass Audubon-part of a larger High Road project.

A grant to YMCA of Gloucester, a nonprofit corporation, in conjunction with Gloucester CPC, for the creation, construction and installation of a Spash Park at the YMCA facility at the old Fuller School site.

Replacement of the art barn and the cook shelter roof and repairs to the structural and rot damaged area to the Brookside cabin. These building are part of the YMCA Summer Camp program which serves 180-200 children of all levels and abilities.

Further funds to plan and create a park to create a park at the Yellow House property at 66 Main St.

Taking of the property at 66 Main St. also known as the Yellow House next to Town Hall for the reason of acquisition and rehabilitation of a historic resource and preservation of open space downtown. A note on this property: Restrictions are required for the front portion of the property, which was purchased with Community Preservation Act funds. The back portion, which includes the lawn and parking lot, were purchased with taxpayer money through a town meeting vote.

Replacement of HVAC and gutters, repointing of exterior bricks on the Yarmouth Port Library. This is an independent, privately-funded library open to all 25 hours per week.

To rehabilitate the north, south, and east exterior walls and stained glass windows.
