This grant will include (4) parts: ‱ Restoration of all entrances and exits to the Johnny Kelley Park ‱ Building improvements to make the building and bathrooms a year-round facility ‱ Restoration of the Braille and Fitness trail surfacing ‱ The addition of a light tower for the dark corner of the multi-purpose field at Johnny Kelley Park

This grant will upgrade the playground surfaces at the Johnny Kelley Playground and the West Dennis Graded Schoolhouse Playground. These surfaces will bring these playgrounds up to code for accessibility and for fall hazards. Also, we will be adding apparatuses in the open area and upgrading those that need to be brought up to code for accessibility.

Additional funds to close a budget gap for the CPA-funded restoration of 181 Broadway, which is a group home for young adults with psychiatric disabilities owned by Cascap. Since receiving CPA funding in FY21, construction costs have increased significantly, while the contractor has determined that larger sections of trim and siding need to be replaced.

Additional funds requested for completing the Hockanum fence project.

Water and sediment Quality Study of Pratt Pond and Mill Pond, including the establishment of a water quality monitoring program and the development of a long-term management for the ponds.

Continued improvements to Gilman Waite making the public restrooms functional.

Restoration of 6 25' original windows in the sanctuary in the church building that is on the historical place of interest.

The Brewster Historical Society proposed to flake Schoolhouse #3 at 2342 Main Street and move it to Windmill Village at Drummer Boy Park. The structure is the last remaining of the Town’s (5) 19th Century Schoolhouses. It will be re-assembled and restored as a schoolhouse and will also include a cranberry history display, as this was also part of its history. The funding request included an additional $10,000 set aside to pay for CPC expenses for historical consulting services related to the project.

For the local match required for a MassTrails Grant to help pay the design costs for the Greenway Rail Trail bike and pedestrian path.

Restoration of a Town-owned historic structure currently leased to the Zion Union Heritage Museum. Restoration and rehabilitation work includes: siding, roofing, windows, doors, ADA accessibility improvements, interior water damage repair, mechanical equipment replacement and site work.

Dianna has been attending online Zoom meetings with organizations such as Mass Housing Partnership, Dept. of Community Housing Development (DHCD), North Shore Home Consortium, Merrimack Valley Planning Commission etc. She has also developed working relationships with other private, local and state entities – this would include Harborlight Communities, Planning Board, Georgetown Administrator, Conservation Commission, ZBA, Building Dept., BOH – as well as others as necessary. Her responsibilities and duties have grown a great deal from where the AHT was the previous year. Dianna will also begin training through the state to become a Certified Lottery Listing Agent.
