Conservation of historically significant Select Board meeting minutes and documents dating 1800—1943. Repairs will include re-backing of bound volumes, stabilization of text blocks in general, surface cleaning, reattaching loose leaves, mending of tears and creases with Japanese paper, and construction of proper housing for each piece.

This annual funding request is to continue the Life Management Program run by the Bedford Housing Authority. The program is a collaboration between the Bedford Housing Authority and Community Teamwork, Inc., a Lowell-based regional social service agency servicing 63 neighboring towns, to provide life management skills to residents in order to guide them toward increased employment and economic independence.

This project will reconstruct a wetland crossing/emergency fire access at the Whipple Hill trail system. The upgrades will repair the trial system in accordance with the recommendations of the Conservation Division, Engineering, and Fire Department staff for fire access and to meet the needs of those who use the trail system. The project will also prevent adverse impacts to surrounding wetlands as a result of the soil degradation and erosion along the existing trail.

Funds will be used for the conservation and preservation of historic municipal documents and records. This project will include a three-part set of oversized map books belonging to the Engineering Dept. and containing schematic drawings, cemetery plot information, and other engineering and urban layout plans spanning from 1856-1912.

CPA funding will allow for improvements to be made to the playing fields at Bridge School. These will include the installation of new natural grass and necessary upgrades to allow the fields to become ADA compliant. Other developments include improved irrigation and drainage of the fields, and the installation of new backstops, signage, and park benches.

CPA funds will be used for the preservation, rehabilitation and restoration of 14 LexHAB affordable housing units. The scope of the work at these units varies by property and all improvements are intended to ensure the continued safety and functionality of the units.

The Early Learning Center Concept Plan will develop a new, inclusive, accessible, and modern playground that will create new opportunities for play that will be age appropriate and appeal to children of varying abilities. The plan will also improve safety from exposure to the sun with 8 new shade trees and ground cover to replace hard surfaces, and safety from vehicles due to a redesigned circulation in the adjacent parking lot. The Playground will include a new and enlarged play structure for older children, a smaller play area for younger children, and an accessible merry-go-round. The surface of the play area will be multi-colored poured-in-place rubber. There will also be a paved area for imaginative play, an area surfaced with wood fiber that could become the site of a future garden, and there will be a large green space with 8 new trees and native shrubs that will serve as a buffer between the playground and parking lot to provide shade, cool temperatures, and attract local pollinators.

This project is for the design of the first phase of the renovation and new addition at the Ellen Stone Building. The design would restore the original floor plan, modified to accommodate future tenants and their specific uses, as outlined in the 2009 Stone Building Historic Structures Report. The project will stabilize a historic structure that has been in a state of disrepair for over a decade, and it will prepare the building for use as a community space and lease to an appropriate tenant.

To fund a portion of the costs of the athletic and recreational facilities project; however no CPC funds can be used for the purchase or installation of any artificial turf, as set forth in the approved application

This project is for a downtown common for both residents and patrons to enjoy.

This is a CPC appropriation to the Wenham Affordable Housing Trust to replenish funds to help with future initiatives. Note that the CPC voted to appropriate the money to this project on the understating that it be used for "new" projects.

The CPC voted to appropriate an additional 150k to the Maple Woods Affordable Housing project.

Funds for the Abington Affordable Housing Trust to be used for future housing projects, housing aid for first time homebuyers and repairs to make potential housing projects up to code.

This FY24 project is to completely overhaul and repair the 1868 E. Howard clock located in the steeple of the First Parish Church directly across from the historic Lexington Green. This restoration will allow the clock to present an accurate and consistent time for residents and visitors to the historic Lexington Green alike.

CPA funds will be used to enable the Munroe Center for the Arts to become ADA-compliant via elevator installation and bathrooms remodeling to accommodate all adults and wheelchair users. Additionally, the project will install a new, energy-efficient HVAC system.

Funding will be utilized for the Conservation Dept.’s efforts to achieve Universal Accessibility under the ADA at Willard’s Woods. The improvements will enhance accessibility through improved universal accessibility trails and facilities, and increase and improve parking, including access and handicapped spaces. This project will also help preserve the meadows, wetlands, and old growth forests at this popular site.
