The Mendes-Monteiro House will be developed by Partners in Housing and managed by the Dartmouth Housing Authority. Support services to tenants will be provided by the Department of Mental Health. The property will be located at 2 Anderson Way. The housing will be for persons age 55 and older and the CPA project grant agreement will include a preference for Dartmouth residents. The total development cost is estimated to be $5,091,873. In October 2018, Town Meeting approved $500,000 for project development costs. The recommended additional $500,000 will be used for construction costs only and is essential to help close the financing gap that will allow this project to be completed. Total CPA funds represent 19.6% of the total project cost. The remaining funds will come from state and private sources. The Mendes-Monteiro House will include one 4 bedroom congregate unit and 6 one bedroom apartment units. |
