To help fund the on-going historical preservation renovations of the Former Central Fire Station Located on Washington Street. The total funding for this request is $40,000 coming from the Historic Resources Category of the Town’s Community Preservation Fund. The historical preservation work will be done in accordance with the Secretary of the Interior's standards.

At the request of the Community Preservation Committee, with the support of the Conservation Commission and Open Space Committee, this article would create a Conservation Fund of which funds would be used for the purpose of acquiring lands for the purposes of conservation, open space, and/or passive recreation. The Fund will be overseen by the Conservation Commission and the Town Treasurer shall serve as the custodian of the funds.

To support the construction of an ADA compliant perimeter path around portions of Pirone Park.

To support the purchase and installation of a generator at the Historical Pleasant Street School Apartments which will preserve the historical building should there be an extended power outage. This will also allow the building to become a safe shelter for residents and neighbors

To support the Ayer Fire Department in their efforts to restore historical photos and frames for the benefit of the town and other fire departments globally. This project involved a sole-source procurement (a purchase of supplies or services without advertising or competition. Chapter 30B places strict limitations on sole-source procurements.) We made a sole-source procurements of any supply or service under $35,000 when a reasonable investigation shows that there is only one practicable source for the required supply or service. Your determination that only one practicable source exists must be in writing.

CPA funds have been rewarded for supporting a comprehensive survey and biological assessments of Ayer ponds (Sandy, Long, Flanagan, Grove, Pine Meadow, and Balch) with recommendations for long-term management.

Creation of a passive recreation area at 62 Pleasant St byt the Ayer Elderly Housing Partnership.

To created ADA compliant recreational facilities at the Sandy Pond Beach Would include a dock area, walkways, special parking for people with disabilities, and improved safety at the intersection of Sandy Pond Road and Snake Hill Road.

$10,000 for the Historical Commission to do a historic resources inventory.

The sum of $400,000 to support the Pirone Park Playground Project to include demolition, site remediation and construction of a new playground.

The sum of $25,000 to support the Ayer Library’s digitization of the original hard copies or the microfilm of “The Nashoba Valley Voice” (formerly “Turner’s Public Sprit”, then “The Public Spirit”), dating from 1869 to the present.

This Article would fund $300,000 from the Community Preservation Fund (FY 2022) Balance Reserve from Open Space Category to help offset a portion of the Town of Ayer’s cost for the installation of a track area as part of the Ayer Shirley Regional School District’s Athletic Field Project. The track will be available for use by Ayer residents when not in use by the schools.

Seed monies for the Ayer Affordable Housing Trust, whose purpose shall be to provide for the creation and preservation of affordable housing in the Town of Ayer for the benefit of low and moderate income households
