Rehabilitate and expand a small, existing single-family home in West Newton to create two permanently affordable rental units: a 3-bedroom affordable at 80% of area median income, and a 2-bedroom affordable at 50% of area median income. The Cambridge YWCA is using CPA funds to completely renovate its SRO housing units for very-low income women at risk of homelessness. Rehab will include all units, building common areas, systems, and elevator, and will be sensitive to the historic design of each of the 2 attached structures. CPA funds will assist in ensuring that these affordable units are preserved as housing resources for very low income women.
