The Town Hall Handicap Ramp project will address a priority need in the Town’s Section 504 Transition Plan by replacing the handicap ramp that accesses the Cahill Auditorium. The project was deemed acceptable by the Town’s Historic Commission in a Certificate of Appropriateness dated July 11, 2022.

Status: Repairs and interior railing installation have been completed. Exterior storms have been ordered with delivery expected before Oct. 1, 2021.

Needs assessment & prioritized phased exterior restoration plan & budget estimates for Town Hall Exterior / former Wayside Estate.

Repairs and painting of Town Hall

Provides funding to repair and rehabilitate the exterior of the Townhall. This includes repairs to the exterior trim, gutters, brick repointing and associated work necessary to preserve the exterior of the building.

Community Preservation Historic Resources Category, “Historic Town Hall Preservation” To see if the Town will vote, pursuant to G.L. c.44B, to appropriate from Community Preservation Fund Undesignated Account, the amount of $9,500.00 (Nine Thousand Five Hundred dollars) to be expended to preserve, restore and rehabilitate, the Town Hall in Georgetown, including any incidental or related costs; and further, any funds from this appropriation remaining unspent after a period of 3 years from the date of the approval of this article will be returned to the Community Preservation Fund only after a vote by the Community Preservation Committee determining that it is unlikely the remaining appropriated funds will need to be spent to this effect, or take any other action related thereto
