The Conservation Commission proposed that the town purchase a CR on 87 acres of a working forest on Westford St. This CR will maintain and increase protected open space and farmlands, and enhance protection of rare species. Restore Johnson Gates and entrance paths at this main entrance to the Back Bay Fens, part of the Emerald Necklace. The Johnson Gates were built in 1902 and erected in 1905. The gates were designed by Guy Lowell, who was also the architect of Boston's Museum of Fine Arts.

To further follow the preservation plan done in the 2021 conditions assessment by Fannin and Lehner, this project will continue preservation work in the historic section of Westlawn Cemetery. The firm expects to be able to rehabilitate/conserve 17 to 20 gravestones and monuments in this third phase of the project.

Create a small park for children on a vacant city parcel in the McKnight neighborhood

Pedestrian Crossings at three roads (Old Connecticut Path, Pinebrook Road, Stonebridge Road) will complete the trail and fulfill an agreement between the Town and the MWRA.

Architectural and engineering fees and other predevelopment expenses for the transformation of the Old Library into an arts and technology learning center that provides multiple types of hands on instruction for all ages.

Initiative #1: Housing Assistance Office. Initiative #2: The Trust is supporting the Town’s Noquochoke Village planning process. Initiative #3: Small Scale Development of affordable housing on town-owned property working with a not-for-profit developer, such as Habitat for Humanity. Initiative #4: Homebuyer Program to provide subsidy to low-income homebuyers in exchange for a permanent affordability restriction. These funds have been allocated to the Affordable Housing Trust. Projects done under this appropriation will be reported when complete.

This project would support the inclusion of up-to 5 low to moderate income housing units within the proposed fifty (50) housing units proposed for Noquochoke Village affordable housing project under the supervision of the Westport Affordable Housing Trust. CPA funding will help TCB to leverage additional sources, including the Federal Home Loan Bank of Boston’s Affordable Housing Program and the MassWorks Infrastructure Program.

For the marking of road signs identifying historic locations in town and outlining their significance.

Extension of the Quequechan River Rail Trail to the Westport Town Line. The funds include construction and materials for this five hundred plus foot extension. Also included is the amount of $605 for a deed restriction and filing fee.

Provide signage to protect the historic burial grounds in Westport.

For restoration work at the Westport Point Methodist Church

Establishing the historic elements of the properties, the town landing, docks and bridge approach area. Set boundary markers and make site plan.

The Westport River Dredging Project will allow the restoration of the Westport Point Historic District Waterways. The monies will be used to deepen the area now known as the mud dock, west of Lees Wharf, and to dredge the area west of the town docks, up to and including the harbormaster dock.
