This represents the final push to get the playing fields finished and safe to use. Fencing will be installed on the fields along the first and third baselines to allow for the safety of spectators. Fencing will also be installed around all dugout areas to protect the players. .

Wetland restoration to improve the water quality in Santuit Pond and in Shoestring Bay through periodic flooding of the bog and remvoing portions of active algae blooms. Flooding will allow the source of phosphorus being removed to be incorporated into the wetland plant growth.

Capital improvements to the lighting at the Whaling Church to improve access, safety and visibility

Consists of 4 parcels. ARTICLE 1. To see if the Town will vote to acquire by gift, purchase or otherwise the property known as Whalley Park from John H. Whalley, 3rd and Kathy A. Whalley which shall be owned by the Town of Southwick, as Trustee, in trust for the benefit of the Inhabitants of the Town of Southwick; the property to be subject to a permanent deed restriction limiting the use of the property to the purposes for which it is acquired; and a portion of the property referred to as Restricted Areas to be subject to protection and use provisions consistent with and similar to the provisions of Sections 31-33 of Chapter 184 of the General Laws and in compliance with the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act; and to authorize the Board of Selectmen on behalf of the Town of Southwick as Trustee to execute any and all documents necessary to effectuate such a restriction on the Restricted Areas in a form and manner consistent with the General Laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. And further to see if the Town will vote to appropriate the sum of Ten ($10.00) Dollars from the FY2013 Community Preservation General Unreserved Fund for the purpose of acquiring said property. The property known as Whalley Park is more particularly bounded and described as follows, and is to be conveyed subject to the following trusts and restrictions

The farmhouse, a National Register listed historic structure and now the Town museum, will have a handicapped ramp installed and handicapped bathrooms installed in order to meet code requirements to be open to the public.

The Great Barrington Historical Society will utilize $24,250 of CPA funds for the next phase of historic preservation at the Wheeler farmhouse, an 18th Century, National Register of Historic Places-listed structure. The Society will replace the antiquated and unsafe knob and tube wiring in the farmhouse. The work is needed in order to further the restoration of the building and to make the structure fit for its intended purpose as the GBHS headquarters and Town museum. The museum is open for free to the public, and it provides educational opportunities for local school students and visitors to town.

Funding to hire a consultant/professional facilitator to assist with public outreach in determining the future use and plans as they relate to the Wheeler Harrington House and Harrington Park.

The Scituate Housing Authority requested funding for replacement of 313 windows in the Wheeler Park II development. Owned by SHA, Wheeler Park II is an affordable housing facility built in 1975 off Common Street and provides housing for primarily elderly and disabled residents. The windows need replacement with more functional windows for the residents and ones that are more durable and long-lasting to handle Scituate’s maritime climate.
