This project will provide interior storm windows with UV filtering to help preserve the museum’s collections from the elements, as well as increase energy efficiency.

2023-7: There are several surviving American Chestnut trees growing in Laurel, Bliss and Turner Parks. The goal of this project is to tell the story of the American Chestnut Trees growing in Longmeadow, by installing two informational kiosks adjacent to the existing trees.

To partially fund the final phase of the redevelopment of Parcel ​(​10)​, a 10-story tower on BPDA land​. The development will include the new construction of 32 affordable homeownership units at or below 80% and 100% AMI.

Funding for this project will develop plans to transform a weedy patch of land, owned by the Town of Arlington, into a vibrant hub of activity and botanic garden park. This proposal was brought forward to the Department of Planning and Community Development by longtime Arlington resident Ben Barkan, owner of HomeHarvest. This vacant parcel is owned by the Arlington Select Board (Parcel ID 10-3-8) and is a rare example of underutilized open space in the town. The feasibility study will analyze existing conditions and design a proposal for use of the site as a park with amenities similar to the Arlington Orchard. One important benefit of the proposed park would be its proximity to the Minuteman Bikeway and Spy Pond Park. Another is that 21 Pond Lane is at the end of a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG)-eligible neighborhood, so improving the site would add an open space amenity within an environmental justice tract.

Seed funding for the design of a new park at 215 Somerville Ave, a 0.2 acre parcel in East Union Square the City purchased in 2018. The goal is to create a pocket park which adds green space to a neighborhood that currently lacks tree canopy and walkable access to open space.

The purchase of approximately 4.79 acres of land located on Sunset Road, a private, gravel road off Edward Foster Road, that links First Cliff and Second Cliff with the business district and the rest of the town. The property is located at the end of Sunset Road, adjacent to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration headquarters of the Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary (SBNMS).
