2019-6: This project provides additional partial funding as part of a long term plan to renovate and improve the conditions of the Wolf Swamp Road fields (reconfigure/resurface fields, providing irrigation). The fields are used for soccer, field hockey, lacrosse, and baseball by many age groups. This is in addition to the $330,000 provided in past years. Project is near entering substantial completion phase. For accounting purposes, the previous codes #201818-2 and 2018-7 are being eliminated and funds are being transferred to this project code, which has the same scope of work.

2018-7: This appropriation would originally fund a plan to improve traffic flow and parking at the Wolf Swamp Road Fields as part of the larger project of Wolf Swamp Road Fields renovations. A site design change has occurred since which no longer reflects a ring road but rather a different parking design, therefore town residents voted on 05.16.2021 to transfer said funds to the other appropriations previously approved for the fields renovations (ATM 2018 / Art 22 and ATM 2019 / Art 26).

To preserve and restore the last remaining one room schoolhouse in Westport, built in 1833. After the restoration of this privately owned building, the Town will have access to it through a historic preservation restriction and students of all ages will be given the opportunity to visit and learn more of our Town's past. The Massachusetts Historical Commission has stated that the Wolf Pit School is eligible for listing on the National Register of Historic Places.

​To create an ADA-accessible pathway and patio in an existing publicly-accessible church garden.

Development of additional 2-bedroom unit on existing site owned by Wayland Housing Authority where a 2-family house exists. MAHTF used CPA funds to pay architect to produce preliminary CAD drawings.

Restoration of Tennis Courts at the Wixon School

Restoration and replacement of damaged and rotted structural columns and beam on the covered porch for the Pine Street-facing entrance to the Main House Building. This was an emergency application, since the need for this work was revealed during a previously funded project.

Project will fund re-painting and restoring exterior structures of Wistariahurst Museum's main house and carriage house. This work builds on necessary rehabilitation needs of this historic museum begun with previous CPA awards on electrical repairs in FY20 and FY21. Note: On the date above, City Council approved $125,000 in funding for this project. on February 21, 2023, City Council subsequently approved the CPC's recommendation to increase funds by $3,000. So the total funding amount by this date was $128,000.

Phase I: Update of existing and unsafe electrical wiring in the Main House of this building which is on the state's register of historic places. Replacement of old fuse boxes and rewiring of old fixtures and other electrical repairs as needed.

Signage and historic information; completion of master conservation plan

Full assessment of historic cemetery including landscape, fencing, stones, and markers. Some stone restoration as funds allow.

For Winter Park recreational facility.

Winter Island is on the National Register of Historic Places as part of the Winter Island Historic and Archaeological district. It contains several Native American archaeological sites dating over 6,000 years as well as Fort Pickering and the former U.S. Coast Guard and Sea Rescue Station. In 2011, the City of Salem developed a comprehensive Master Plan for Winter Island. It contains a number of key recommendations that can be implemented in phases in order to enhance Winter Island Park’s natural resources, preserve its historical structures, increase public access and enable it to operate in a financially sustainable manner. The scope of this phase includes the creation of a scenic, walkway/bike path along the perimeter of the park bordering Cat Cove in order to provide access and viewing spots of the Cove. The 1600 linear ft. waterside trail will be interpretive and will contain signage to explain the natural environment and heritage of the park and its relationship to the surrounding harbor and community. This new multi-use, accessible pathway will connect Winter Island directly to an extensive City-wide Salem Bike Path which links to both Beverly and Marblehead bike paths, thus increasing access by alternative methods.

Funds provided to install air flow circulation and other stabilization mechanisms for the purpose of maintaining structural preservation.

Abatement efforts in historic winslow school so building is prepped for future uses. Involves additional site work to clean up the area in our historic town center since building sits on same campus as the Littlefield Library

To preserve the historic Winslow Crocker and Thacher House Museums. The properties are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
