2023-2: this project aims to for replace, repair or augment the playgrounds at Blueberry Hill School, Wolf Swamp Road School, and Center School, consistent with achieving ADA accessibility standards.

2023-5: The Storrs House is owned by the Library, but maintained by the Longmeadow Historical Society. The windows appear to have been installed in the 1930’s. This project will provide interior storm windows with UV filtering to help preserve the museum’s collections from the elements, as well as increase energy efficiency.

2023-7: There are several surviving American Chestnut trees growing in Laurel, Bliss and Turner Parks. The goal of this project is to tell the story of the American Chestnut Trees growing in Longmeadow, by installing two informational kiosks adjacent to the existing trees.

The goal of this project is to complete Phase II of the 2019 Trafton Park Master Plan. In FY19 CPC awarded $45,000.00 to complete the Trafton Park Master Plan and Feasibility Study, and in FY20 CPC awarded $225,000.00 for Phase I Construction for Trafton Park. The Trafton Park Phase II Construction project will facilitate the replacement of the existing backstop and convert the existing baseball field into one that may be used for baseball, softball and soccer. The existing two tennis courts will be adapted to one improved court, a basketball court, and a free play area. The dog park will be improved with new surfacing, benches, shade trees, and water for dogs and humans. Electrical connections will be established at the plaza for community events including July 4 and Halloween. And the circular loop around the park will be completed for walkers and bicyclists. Eight (8) new trees of diverse species will be planted throughout the park. A new water service will be installed to irrigate the field and provide fresh water to dogs and humans. Solar lighting will be installed to illuminate the field and park. Trash receptacles will be installed at the entrances to the park and new pathways will be built to ADA specifications.

Major Preservation of the Steele Farm House.

Funding requested by Dunstable Parks and Recreation Departments for improvements to all sheds to include an overhead garage door to accommodate large machines needed by the sports teams to maintain the fields.

For conservation purposes, the Dunstable Conservation Commission requested funding for the purchase of a 4.7 acre building lot that includes Morgan's Pond, the associated dam, and two hundred feet of frontage on Mill St. Historically, the dam was the site of the Swallow grist and sawmills in the 19th and early 20th centuries, and in the 20th century, William Morgan harvested ice from the pond. The purchase of this parcel is conditioned on the Town's receiving a 58% State Land Grant reimbursement.

The wells and irrigation system at the Larter Field recreation area are 30 years old and no longer functioning. This area is used for baseball, softball, volleyball, and soccer. It contains a 1/2 mile walking path, a basketball court, and a playground. This funding is requested by the Parks and Recreation Committee to rehabilitate and improve the entire well and irrigation system.

This project was previously approved to be built on the existing Tennis Court site in Town Center. Due to increased regulations, this site now poses wetlands, parking, and access issues. Parks and Recreation have requested that the remaining funds for this project be re-allocated to a new site at the Larter Field sports complex. This site would consist of two Tennis courts and one Pickle Ball court.
