The Jonathan Belcher House is over 100 years old; due to its age, the house does not meet many ADA requirements of today. This rehabilitation will include the installation of a lift, widening of doorways and installation of handicap restrooms. The funding from the Town will be a match to monies already received from the Mass Cultural Facilities Fund. The Womenâs Club will be raising the additional money needed through additional grants and fundraising. The State Grant does have a time limit and the complete funding must be raise by June of 2024. |

The Town of Randolph was accepted by the State to participate in the âOur Common Backyardsâ grant program. The Randolph project will be to construct a recreational opportunity for teenagers and young adult residents in Town. The Town has to contribute $50,000 of the $200,000 needed for the project. The State, in turn, will reimburse the Town $150,000. The construction must be completed within the calendar year. The Town Planner and Director of Community Programs have decided on a ropes/challenge course using 20,000 sq ft of the total acreage of Belcher Park, to contain low ropes, cargo nets, traverse lines (with and without tires and tension ropes), climbing structures and fitness pieces in a space that engages the older youth and adult population. |

The building is located on North Main Street in historic Crawford Square. The Trustees have noticed recent signs of water intrusion to the interior of the building due to the need of spot exterior brick re-pointing and waterproofing. This work will enhance the structure of the building and add to the aesthetics of the exterior. Also in need of repair is a custom 8 x 2 window on the left side of the building as the elements are beginning to penetrate the double pane. The Town of Randolph applied for a Public Works Economic Development (PWED) grant for street and sidewalk improvements for North Main Street - Warren Street to West Street. The new sidewalk, roadway treatments, resetting granite curbing, improvements to pedestrian walkways and crossings, street trees, benches, trash receptacles, planters, decorative lighting and granite pavers, landscape enhancements, and signage will truly transform the downtown. The Community Preservation CommitteeÂs approval of the $200,000 is to go toward street trees and historic lighting. The $200,000 local match would be used to leverage an additional $999,222 in a state grant for street and sidewalk improvements. The implementation of the streetscape improvements will enhance the quality and commercial success of the downtown. These improvements are part of an overall improvement program for the downtown that will be an integral part of the success of the downtown. |

Randolph | Crawford Square Streetscape-Phase One |
To purchase and install historic lighting for the Crawford Square Streetscape project. The historic lighting for this project has been deemed as a historic preservation eligible activity by the Historic Commission. Also, this grant award will allow the Town to upgrade the pedestrian signals to meet ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) requirements to include an audible chirp for those that are sight impaired or blind, and a countdown warning for people crossing the street. Whereas Town Meeting and the CPC previously funded Phase Two of this project and those funds were used to leverage our PWED (Public Works Economic Development) state funded grant application for additional funding in the amount of $1,365,033.00; and the historic nature of Crawford Square must be preserved for future generations, the CPC voted unanimously to support this project. The implementation of the streetscape improvements will enhance the quality and commercial success of the downtown. These improvements are part of an overall improvement program for the downtown that will be an integral part of the success of the downtown. |

DJ Simmonds grew up in Randolph, graduated from Randolph High School and became a police officer. After the 2014 Boston Marathon Bombing, Sergeant Simmonds was injured during the shootout in Watertown while pursuing the individuals responsible for the bombing and later passed away. Where Angels Play Foundation, whose mission is to spread honor and facilitate healing, will build a playground in his honor. This funding will go to the preparation of the space in Belcher Park to make the installation possible. Some of the work to be funded includes: trees needing to be removed, excavation and grading, partial re-routing of irrigation and supplies for the day of the build. |

The project proposes to replace the Master Fire Boxes at all three public housing sites under the management of the Randolph Housing Authority. The Randolph Fire Department has recently updated its fire reporting system to a wireless operation. The new system will increase alarm reporting capabilities and the overall reliability of alarm transmissions. The current fire alarm system was first put into service on August 13, 1900. The new system must be in place by April 1, 2011. |
