For the purchase of a conservation restriction on 11 acres of wetlands along the Larrywaug Brook and a 100-ft buffer zone at the Route 102 entrance into town (approximately 2 additional acres).

For a historic survey, which would allow the town to apply for a variety of state and federal grants.

To fence off a portion of Camp Lakota that will have playing fields with an irrigation system. The new fields and irrigation system will be constructed with private funds.

A renovation of the exterior of the Roudenbush Community Center

For a unit accessibility project. This money will be used for the engineering and design of handicap accessible units for elderly and disabled individuals. It will also include test borings and perc tests for new units. Presently only four units are considered handicap accessible and even they don't meet today's standards.

A grant to the South Williamstown Community Association to restore the 134-year-old Little Red Schoolhouse Building. The money will go for repairs of its deteriorating foundation.

A historic structures study and preservation plan for a Shaker herb-drying shed

For the purchase of land that is currently under Chapter 61A. Will be paid in ten installments of $30,000 annually.

Foundation repair work at the Job Lane house, which dates to 1720.

For the purchase of the 16-acre Altmann parcel that abuts Great Meadows Wildlife Refuge and Huckins Farm. The land was purchased with $300,000 in CPA funds and $535K through the Route 3 Open Space acquisitions Grant Program.

To help construction of two ball fields at the town's Gravel Pits.

Restoration of the interior of the Daniel Webster House, probing and electrical work and plastering and painting.

To help create a skateboard park.

A project with Habitat for Humanity to build 2 houses using CPA funds, donations from the community, and 350 hours of labor from each home recipient. The project has a five-year horizon and it is expected that this level of funding will be provided by the CPC for each of the five years.

The Nantucket Housing Authority has received 3 parcels of land from the town for the specific purposes of developing and maintaining long-term affordable housing for low and moderate income Nantucket residents. The purpose of this project is to ensure that the 3 vacant lots do not lose their Title V protection to allow for the development of a three bedroom house on each lot to be used as an affordable year-round rental by a Nantucket family. The 3 septic systems must be installed by 1/1/2003 to guarantee the buildability of each lot. CPA funding will be used to cover the costs associated with the surveying and installation of the septic systems.
