The funding will be used for the purchase of 11.13 acres of undeveloped land in South Framingham for resource protection, stormwater management, and passive outdoor recreation. The parcel, crossed by Beaverdam Brook, is predominantly wetlands and includes 3 to 4 acres of wooded upland and trails. It is part of a larger tract that includes land in Sherborn and Ashland. The site will also offer passive outdoor recreation with its walking trails and potential connections to current and future off-site trails in and beyond the City, thus offering a valuable passive recreation opportunity to nearby economic justice neighborhoods and the larger community.

The Community Preservation Committee and Town Meeting voted to acquire a 21-acre parcel of farmland from a local family. The property was held in a trust, with the existing farmhouse and garage extracted from the land to be acquired. Map 18-20-1

The Cambridge Housing Authority (CHA) is planning to use CPA funding to expand and historically renovate their existing property at 116 Norfolk Street. The current building, a former convent, contains 37 single-room occupancy (SRO) units. The CHA is proposing to reconfigure those units into studio apartments and to build a rear addition to create up to a total of 62 studio apartments under the provisions of the Affordable Housing Overlay (AHO).

For historic preservation or rehabilitation purposes in connection with the 12 N Main St Stabilization Phase I project and any other related costs, and to authorize the Board of Selectmen to convey a historical preservation restriction on the property.

This project replaces the asphalt-shingle roof in order to prevent leaks that have in the past caused, and can cause future water damage to the exterior, underlying structures, and interior of this historic building in Littleton Center.
