Homeowner's Rehab, Inc acquired this 42-unit privately owned expiring use development which had served low-income households for over 30 years. Located near the services, amenities and public transportation opportunities of Central Square, this development would likely have been sold to market developers had HRI not acquired and redeveloped the property consisting mostly of two-, three-, and four-bedroom units. HRI incorporated several green features into the renovations including using environmentally sensitive materials and energy efficient electrical and plumbing fixtures. Exterior renovations and landscaping have made the property more enjoyable for residents and have greatly improved this prominent property on Columbia Street.

CPA funds will go to the open space component of a larger purchase by the town which, in addition to the open space, will be used for a school and municipal buildings.
