Somerville Henry Hansen Park Design

The City of Somerville will procure design services for the revitalization of Henry Hansen Park. Henry Hansen was a Somerville resident who raised the first American flag at Iwo Jima during World War II.

Somerville Land acquisition study fund

The City of Somerville Land Acquisition Study Fund will make funds available for the City to explore the feasibility of acquiring parcels for acquisition for open space and recreation land. The fund will support appraisals, environmental studies, surveys, and other preliminary studies necessary to determine if a parcel is a good candidate for acquisition and gather the necessary information to prepare a full proposal for submission to the Community Preservation Committee for CPA funding or directly to the Board of Aldermen for funding through non-CPA sources.

Southampton Pickle Ball Courts

Pickle Ball is a game which has become popular, especially with older players. Students from our local elementary school are also playing it, too. Two courts will be created in the same area as our tennis courts are.

Southampton Restoration of the Historicl Clark Chapman House

The Clark Chapmen House, so named for two families important to the history of the Town. The Historical Society owns the property with many Town artefacts stood there. The rooms are furnished for different time periods. The schools and other groups visit regularly. It is in need of restoration, especially the roof and some wall deterioration is taking place.

Southampton Accesability Ramp for Community Cupboard

The Community Cupboard, a food bank type activity which is housed in three separate rooms at the Congregational church needs a study handicapped ramp for people with disabilities to have safe access. The Community Cupboard serves many people from the surrounding area and is not connected with any religious activity of the congregation. The building is one of buildings in town from it's past having been constructed in the early 1800s.
