For assistance in providing a foundation and restoration of the existing building at the Schoolhouse Museum and reconstruction of one of the earlier wings in order to provide protection and preservation of historic artifacts and handicapped accessibility

Funding has been made for the construction of handicapped accessible resource rich, simply constructed nature place, spaces for the elementary schools in Acton. This request is for the construction of the Nature Play Space for the Acton elementary schools as part of the regional school system.

The National Historic Landmark schooner Adventure (built in 1926) has been extensively restored to a high standard in keeping with The Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Historic Vessel Preservation Projects. The vessel resumed sailing operations in 2015 as a U.S. Coast Guard certificated passenger vessel and is currently subject to the inspection regimen and safety regulations specified in 46 CFR Subchapter T. This project is intended to remove, inspect, service and reinstall the vessel's rudder and related hardware in order to ensure that these critical components, essential to vessel function and safety, are materially sound and will maintain their structural integrity for a lengthy period going forward. The rudder project will take place during the vessel's 2022 Fall shipyard haul-out period, and is a facet of the larger scope of work scheduled for that time, which will include inspection and maintenance of underwater caulked seams, routine hull planking replacement, re-coating with protective anti-fouling paint, and additional projects based on an assessment of material condition currently taking place during May of 2021 in the vessel's current dry-docking. Including the rudder project, estimated total expense for the 2022 haul-out is $60,000. Please note that the percentage of requested CPA support reflects the rudder project as an individual facet of the larger scope of work.

Rehabilitation and restoration of the historic Schooner Roseway vessel at World Ocean School. Educational space for primarily under-resourced students in the Boston area.

The project is providing and improving land for recreational use. The fund will provide funding to support a bike and walking trail map system that will connect historic sites, recreational destinations, and local retail shops and eateries.

AFFORDABLE HOUSING TRUST FUNDED THE TOWN OF SCITUATE HOUSING PRODUCTION PLAN UPDATE

This project is providing for preservation of historically significant artifact. The six logbooks were found in the Scituate Light House covering the years 1891-1911

The Scituate Historical Society is requesting funding to restore the iconic Scituate Lighthouse which is the 11th oldest lighthouse in the United States and is one of the foremost symbols of Scituate. Built in 1811, the lighthouse was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1987. Owned by the Town of Scituate, the lighthouse is managed by the Historical Society. While it has been maintained over the years, no major repairs have been done in several decades. This project will entail a complete rebuilding of the lantern room walls with new iron structural frame, weather-resistant window frames and glazing, new copper cladding, rebuilding the catwalk flooring, interior woodwork, finishes, electrical components, and automatically controlled interior ventilation system. The restoration work also includes replacement of the tower’s interior wood stairway, repairs to the masonry, new finish coat, and new mahogany storm windows. All work will be designed and constructed in a manner that preserves the historic appearance of the lighthouse and will be in accordance with the U.S. Department of the Interior’s standards for historic preservation.

Scituate Skate Park Renovation is for the construction and installation of a new skate park at current location. The plan is to demolish and rebuild the current skate park using modern design and construction.

Grant to be used by Hingham Housing Authority for exterior restoration to the house located at 132 Scotland Street. This house was acquired using CPA funds in 2006.

This project is primarily to fund the City of Holyoke's acquisition and protection of 14.1 acres of land north of Scott Tower with matching funds from PARC and LWCF to begin community outreach and planning for the newly revitalized Anniversary Hill Park.

The sixth installment in a maximum of ten installments to pay down principal and interest on the borrowing for the Scott’s Grove Affordable Housing development approved in Article #20 at the Annual Town Meeting held on April 11, 2017. Affordable Rental Housing on Town Owned Land ground leased to Island Housing Trust to develop 9 apartments for renters earning 80% or less of the area wide median income. $50,000 for the Board of Selectmen to expend for the historic preservation of the Town-owned building at 135 Patriots Road, East Templeton, known as Scout Hall, by rehabilitating the ceiling and other interior components, electrical, plumbing and heating components for use as a municipal Youth and Community Center; said project to follow the U.S. Secretary of Interior standards for historic rehabilitation, as required by the Community Preservation Act.

To replace the roof of the Scotland Trinitarian Congregational Church. Appropriation declined by recipient; project will not be undertaken

For restoration of the historic Sea Call Farm. Application to the National Register of Historic Places is now in progress. When restored, the farmhouse will provide housing to a Town employee.
