Scituate 1924 WHITE FIRE TRUCK RESTORATION

Restoration of a nearly 100-year-old fire truck once owned by the Town of Scituate. The Scituate Antique Fire Engine Restoration Group located a 1924 White Fire Truck that was the first motorized fire truck owned by Scituate. Confirmation is based on a) the gold lettering of Scituate and the Number 4 visible on the fire truck; b) the fire truck’s data plate information was sent to the Vintage White Truck Association in California, and the organization verified that this fire truck was purchased by the Town of Scituate; and c) the Group was provided a Commonwealth of MA Certification of Title for the fire truck. It will be made available to the public for viewing and use in parades, exhibits, and events for the Town. The Scituate Historical Society also committed a $5,000 donation toward the restoration costs.

Braintree Monatiquot River Trail @ Armstrong Dam

Unreserved Fund Construction of a walking trail along the restored Monatiquot River at the Armstrong Dam on Plain Street. The trail is part of the overall Monatiquot River Restoration Project which includes dam removal, river restoration, migratory fish passage, a bridge, and the walking trail. The trail will provide the opportunity to access the scenic rock falls area and view the annual river herring migration. The trail will be fully ADA-compliant and is approximately one-third of a mile in length.

Holliston Public Library Front Facade Repairs

Repair water and ice damage to cornice over front entrance way of ca 1904 Carnegie library. Water infiltration behind stonework over front door caused a portion of the stone to crack and fall.
