This year, they are taking over maintenance of the beds in front of the fire station as well.

Scituate Seawall Site Preservation

This project is providing additional funding in the amount of $200,000 for the Lighthouse Foreshore Protection Project. The project protects Scituate Lighthouse and the real property where it resides. A stone revetment will be done using heavy stone. The present retaining wall will be removed. The new revetment will be in the same footprint as the existing wall and will be two feet higher. The stone from the existing wall will be used as filler. There is very little protecting the historical town lighthouse. This project qualifies for CPA funding as it protects a historic resource from harm and destruction

Fall River Second District Court (Fall River Re-Creation)

The Bristol County Second District Courthouse, which was built between the years 1908 and 192, was designed by architect Louis Destremps and constructed and used for court and office purposes until 2010.This handsome cream-pressed brick, cast stone and granite Neo-classical buiding stands as one of Fall River's landmark public buildings. Other features of the building include balustrade parapet, center element with four engaged Roman Ionic monumental columns, and arched openings at ground level. A 18,000 sq. ft. addition added in 1978 is not considered historical This project will include demo of damaged rooms, removal disposal of lead and installation of sprinkler system. Demolition and removal of lead is complete.The excavating will begin for the sprinkler system installation The excavating will begin 8/21/18 and they should have a better idea once they speak with the gentleman who is installing the sprinkler system.

$150,000 was transferred to the Leverett Affordable Housing Trust for use in the Home Ownership Assistance Program, a program which assists income-qualified families to purchase an affordable home in Leverett. All homes purchased through the program become deed-restricted to remain affordable for future income-qualified buyers, thus permanently increasing Leverett's stock of affordable homes.
