Preservation of the architectural fabric of Stonehurst, the Robert Treat Paine Estate. Exposed cedar shingles will be replaced, about one dozen windows will be reconditioned, stone foundations will be selectively repointed, a deteriorated porch floor will be replaced, and stone steps will be reset to improve visitor safety.

The Waltham Conservation Commission is seeking to hire a professional, multi-disciplinary planning firm or team to prepare a Conservation Land Stewardship Plan for the woodlands and trails of Stonehurst, the Robert Treat Paine Estate/Storer Conservation Lands, in consultation with relevant City departments and commissions.

This appropriation funded Phase II of the Old Reservoir Stormwater Mitigation project. These funds were used to create a second water quality structure to capture water in the southwest corner of the facility from the single remaining outfall along Marrett Road.

Jones Tavern located at 128 Main Street, is one of Acton’s oldest and most important historic properties. Iron Work Farm in Acton, Inc., a local 501(c) (3) non-profit corporation, received CPA funding in 2019 to preserve, rehabilitate, and restore the historic sashes of seventy-two windows at the Jones Tavern and Faulkner Homestead. The Massachusetts Historical Commission is now encouraging installation of storm windows to preserve and extend the life of historic windows. The funds are for purchasing and installation of storm windows to protect forty-four windows at Jones Tavern.

For construction of a stormwater/runoff treatment plan to reduce harmful runoff into Bare Hill Pond

This project will allow Storrs House Museum second floor to be heated and air conditioned. The project would entail placing the heating and cooling system on the 3rd floor so they can independently cool and heat the second floor. Allows Longmeadow Historical Society to improve the museum enviroment for the safe storage and preservation of archives and collection objects in the Storrs House Museum and improve community access to the collections. This project will enable the Historic Society to complete interior work which began in 2014.

2019-9: This project will provide for the installation of period appropriate doors for the Storrs House Museum, providing additional protection and security for the building and the collections inside. Vendor has underperformed and applicant is negotiating the scope of work with a new vendor.

Restoartion of damaged ceiling at Storrs Library

The goal of this project is to provide a long-term fix by replacing the flat membrane portions of parts of the roof at Storrs Library to prevent further water damage to the library.

To design and construct a children's trail on Library property to include 20 "Barking Dog" Exhibit stations.

Kiosk's will be placed at various spots along the trail behind the high school that connects with Choate Park. These kiosk's will tell a story as you walk past each one. There will be 12 in total along this 1.5 mile path. All school and town groups will able to "tell their story" COMPLETED May 2016

Professional preservation of three volumes of Stoughton historical documents, some over 300 years old. This is Stoughton's share of a joint project with Canton.
