Consulting study to conduct a pre-survey of existing inventories of historic and cultural resources to (1) assess the existing condition of properties already listed, (2) determine the accuracy and completeness of the information in the inventories, and what additional information is required, and (3) identify additional properties of historic or cultural significane that have not been surveyed. This information will be used by the Wellesley Historical Commission to create a strategic preservation plan.

For the preservation of the historic Wellesley Farms train station.

To implement a management study of Morses Pond under the joint direction of the Natural Resources Commission, the Recreation Commission and Board of Public Works.

This appropriation will allow for the construction of bathrooms at teh Sprague Fields in Wellesley, one of the most actively-used playing fields complex in town. The project is modeled after the Hunnewell Field aqueduct bathroom project where pre-fab construction was used and has been a very successful project.

This appropriation will fund a two-year program to convert a traditional grass, power-mowed lawn on town-owned land to a more ecologically valuable landscape with native grasses and wildflowers. The goal is to demonstrate the potential for pollinator friendly, low maintenance landscapes that can be used on public and private land, both residential and institutional, that are more environmentally friendly.

This appropriation will fund the completion of the restoration of two historic town atlases utilized by the Planning Department. The initial funding for this project was approved at the 2020 ATM.

This appropriation will provide for the purchase of a new weed harvester. The large weed harvester is essential to ensuring the ongoing health of Morses Pond, a significant resource for the community for recreation and for open space and wildlife habitats.

This appropriation will fund the replacement of the original bathroom facility at the Hunnewell Fields, built in 1950. This facility serves the main athletic field facility in the town.

This appropriation will fund the restoration of the town-owned parkspace in the center of Wellesley across from the Wellesley Post Office. The project will involve the removal of the reamins of an old bus stop creating a new garden bed, upgrading the irrigation system, removal of invasive species and old plantings and the planting of new native trees, shrubs, perennials and groundcover. This wil be an addition to the NRC's pollinator corridor which is being establilshed around Town.

This project is the construction of restroom facilities in two locations using modular structures at the newly renovated track and field, part of the Hunnewell Field complex.

This grant funds the extension of a program under the control of the Wellesley Historical Commission which provides historic date markers for structures in Wellesley constructed more than 100 years ago. The Historical Commission estimates approximately 200 additional structures will qualify by 2019 and this grant will fund the research on the history of those buildings as well as the manufacturing of the plaques.

Acquire 46 acres for open space and recreation from Wellesley College

The scope of the proposed project is updating of a portion of
the records for the Town of Wellesley in the Inventory of
Historic and Archeological Assets of the Commonwealth of
Massachusetts (Inventory.)In the proposed project, the Commission intends to focus on
the town’s village centers. These are not well represented in
the existing Wellesley inventory. Village areas will include a
mix of commercial, institutional and residential building uses.
Potential focus areas are preliminarily identified as geographic
areas which can be described as follows:
! Wellesley Lower Falls Village Area
! Wellesley Square Village Area
! Wellesley Hills Village Area
! Wellesley Fells Village Area

Rehabilitation and accessibility for house donated for the terminally ill at a non-profit 24/7 hospice care home.
