Acquisition of a parcel of land for permanent use as open space, passive recreation, and agriculture. The entire parcel is 322 acres, with the Town owning 186 of those acres and the Groton Conservation Trust owning 136 acres. The Town holds a conservation restriction on the Groton Conservation Trust land and Mass Department of Fisheries and Wildlife holds a conservation restriction on the Town's land. Funds were transferred to the Hingham Affordable Housing Trust at ATM April 28, 2008. For loans for use by eligible homeowners for restoration and repair of their homes (including the purchase and installation of handicap accessibility features)

For professional fees and costs for the production of fully engineered construction documents for the repair, rehabilitation and improvement of the portion of North Street from its intersection with South Street to Route 3A

For the creation of open space through the demolition and removal of slabs, foundations, cement barriers, railroad tracks and other debris from Bare Cove Park, for landscaping, planting, purchase and installation of picnic benches, picnic tables, fencing and lighting fixtures in the Park, together with associated design fees and costs, and for consultant fees for an environmental resource inventory of and management plan for the Park

To treat the Pond with federal and state approved chemicals (Sonar Herbicide) to remove invasive plant species. The amount requested will fund the initial application, plus three booster applications.

To acquire a parcel of land for permanent conservation, forever preserving a significant portion of the Glad Tidings Plain viewscape. AKA Hastings Property. Seller: Thomas J. Hastings. Map 137, Lot 50

For the revovation of the 1894 portion of the library building

To the Northborough Trails Committee for trail preservation projects and equipment purchases

For engineering and appraisals costs associated with acquisition of open space. This is a general fund for potential project appraisals, and legal fees for project closings.

Appropriation to the Wellfleet Housing Trust Fund for affordable housing purposes

For: i) the restoration and stabilization of the Pro Patria and Gloria Monument (the “Iron Horse Monument”), ii) the restoration and preservation of eight (8) bronze commemorative or memorial plaques set in granite rock; and, iii) the restoration and preservation of the Cyrus Bacon Memorial Fountain/Horse Trough

For a needs assessment and capital improvement plan for the donation and conversion of a private historic house museum and the surrounding landscape to the Newton Historical Society, for operation as a public nonprofit house museum. No real property other than the preservation restriction was acquired for City ownership. The second phase of funding for the Rail Trail, which extends 22 miles from Sudbury to Lowell (4.6 miles in Acton).
