Community Housing improvements consisting of converting 4 single room occupancy units into 2 one-bedroom and 1 studio units. Town of Barnstable will hold a deed restriction on the units.

Rehabilitation and restoration of a portion of the 1730 structure, foundation repair and drainage work as well as a historical survey of the structure. Town of Barnstable will hold a Historic Preservation Restriction.

The project consists of 3 parcels located off Route 132 in Hyannis. These parcels in coordination with the Athletic Needs Assessment completed in June 2007 are essential in the development of a Master Facilities Plan for present and future outdoor recreational opportunities for our residents and visitors at this site.

The 0.35 acre parcel is an extension of the "Walkway to the Sea." Improvements include green space / park with an 8' wide harbor walk with a cobblestone wave embedded into the walkway. Park benches and educational kiosks are installed on the site with information regarding the environmental underground leaching system that will further filter storm water runoff before entering the harbor. Inventories to be done in two phases including the late 19th and early 20th century historic properties either missed or not included in initial assessment. Updated inventories will provide necessary information for assessing prevalent issues in the current plan. $50,000 for inventory and $20,000 for Plan.

Funding will cover the cost of a Project Manager needed to facilitate design, construction and start-up of a local Wellness Center. Facility will be available 24x7 for anyone who is or is about to enter homelessness. Once entered into the system, emergency housing, necessary medical care and a case manager assigned to ease transition back into society will be provided.

Preservation of the Barnstable Patriot newspaper by digitizing the first 100-150 years, beginning with the publication of June 30, 1830.

To fund the preservation and rehabilitation of 50 Pearl St, built in 1920, to create an onsite workspace for artists. This building is located within the Hyannis Main Street Waterfront Historic District.

To fund preservation of the Town Hall Door and Entryway from the Village Green by refurbishing the existing exterior doors and frame. This building is located within the Hyannis Main Street Waterfront Historic District. and is on the National Register.

To deacidify and rebind ancient Town records and documents.

To preserve the Town's existing affordable housing stock by providing money to "buy down" (reducing affordable housing restricted resale price so it is affordable for qualified buyers). First buy down - 55 Old Colony Road ($15,000). Second buy down - 67 Moss Place ($9,000); Third by down - 19 Staysail Circle ($50,000). New LIP deed restrictions on each.

To preserve the historic structure as a museum dedicated to celebrating the cultural and ethnic diversity of the community

To restore the roof to prevent it from collapsing and damaging the structure of the Burgess House

Replacement of previously-removed outdated playground equipment with ADA compliant playground equipment including also a shade structure, benches, stables, patio, accessible surfacing, retaining wall, landscaping sidewalk, water bottle filling station and an accessible pathway.

Restoration and preservation of the church tower, pavilion, and nave: structural framing and exterior architectural woodwork, copper dome, flashing, clocks and weathervane.

Historic Preservation and restoration work for provision of accessibility to the historic Olde Colonial Courthouse building by installing a lift leading to a new accessible entrance on the east side of the building and regrading to create an accessible walkway to the building. Massachusetts law required the building to be made compliant with regulations relating to building access for persons with disabilities.

Construction of a new permanent restroom facility at the town-owned fields located at the Barnstable Innovation School for use during practices, games and events held by the League. Facility will replace use of portable restrooms.

Preservation of the historic resource Dottridge Homestead, Rothwell Icehouse and Museum by installing fire safety equipment, climate control system to safeguard exhibits are archives, additional archival storage units to allow capacity for new acquisition. Renovation of a restroom area to its original use as a buttery.
