JAS redeveloped a former church to create 14 units for first-time homebuyers, with a mix of unit sizes from one to four bedrooms. Just A Start preserved the existing church and rectory buildings, creating much-needed housing for low- and moderate-income buyers while maintaining these historic structures.

REPLACE 90 WINDOWS ON AFFORDABLE HOUSING UNITS

To restore a 19th century window on the north side of the 1887 building, depicting St. Cecila, patron saint of music. The window is dedicated by Susan M.D. Bridgman in memory of her husband, Calvin.

To preserve, rehabilitate, and restore the historic sashes of 72 deteriorated windows at the 1707 Faulkner Homestead and the 1732 Jones Tavern.

Windjammer Cove, LLC has entered into a binding agreement with the Town of Braintree to permanently deed restrict 19 affordable units in a 74 unit development located in the Braintree/Weymouth Landing neighborhood of the South Shore.

Resurface the basketball court with a softer material and friendlier colors, add partial fencing along the east edge of the court where a hill currently allows basketballs to roll into the street; and hire a landscape architect to produce a detailed site survey, facilitate community input, and develop designs based on board and community ideas.

The Williamstown Affordable Housing Trust and Berkshire Housing Development Corp are partnering to distribute emergency rental assistance to eligible Williamstown residents who have suffered financial setbacks due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Emergency grants up to $1000 will be distributed to qualified applicants.

Phase I of the restoration of the Williams-Boltwood House will include the creation of an Historical Structure Report (HSR) which will be supported by structural engineering, dendrochronology, and paint assessments, fjunds for roof repairs and the creation of a set of baseline architectural drawings.

In cooperation with neighborhood seniors, create an intergenerational community classroom and pocket park within the school playground boundaries, to reflect neighborhood history, for educational use by the teachers and students of Williams Elementary School, and for active and passive recreational use by the neighborhood as a whole.
