City of Malden Seeks Part-Time CPA Administrator

The City of Malden is looking to hire a part-time CPA Administrator to support the Malden Community Preservation Committee by managing the annual funding application process, preparing reports on budgets and grants, and implementing the Committee's goals and policies. Position Title: Community Preservation Committee Coordinator

Job Description

The Community Preservation Coordinator manages the Community Preservation Act (CPA) Program for the City of Malden, including assisting the Community Preservation Committee, coordinating the application process for granting CPA funds, managing the CPA budget and CPA grants, ensuring compliance with applicable legal requirements, and managing projects related to the CPA. The Coordinator will work directly with the Chairperson, as well as staff from other City departments and members of the community, to determine needs and ensure transparency in the application and funding awards processes, and is responsible for completing and filing annual reports on CPA projects and expenditures.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five (5) years of experience or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job. Master’s degree in Public Policy/Administration, Urban Planning, Historic Preservation, or related field preferred.

Knowledge and experience with the following concept, programs, and work is highly preferred: Community Preservation Act, urban planning policy and socioeconomic impacts, accounting, affordable housing, open space and natural resource management, park and recreational facilities planning, and historic preservation.
