Open Meeting Law Provisions Extended: CPC's Can Continue Remote Meetings Until 2023
Since 2020, Community Preservation Committees and other public bodies have been able to conduct their meetings remotely thanks to special COVID-19 provisions that expanded the rules around the state's Open Meeting Law. While these provisions were due to expire this summer, the Legislature recently passed an extension of this provision until March 31, 2023. This means that CPC's and other committees can continue to operate remotely, "provided that the public body makes provision to ensure public access to the deliberations of the public body for interested members of the public through adequate, alternative means."
