During long term efforts to acquire the Fernald School property, an initial request was Recommended by the CPC and appropriated by City Council Orders#31308 and 31309 on April 13, 2010 for planning for the surplus of the Fernald, of which $9850 was spent.. The Mayor negotiated a price for the Fernald which subsequently was Recommended by the CPC for a portion of the property and appropriated by the City Council on City Council Order #33161 for $2,714,331.80 on December 9, 2014.
