There were three appropriations for the Wellington House (1) 3/12/08 #30844 Exterior Restoration of the historic Wellington House $100,000 (2) #31206 10/26/09 Interior Restoration of the historic Wellington House $300,000. This project was closed in FY2012. (3) Complete the House for WHC Office and museum aspects. These projects will be consolidated when the Interior is completed.

St. Charles Church - Exterior Restoration

Restore the historic City Hall Roof and Council Chambers Ornamental Features to preserve the building. Added Supplemental funds $50,000 1/24/11 to meet bid requirements.The supplement of $50,000 1/24/11 appropriated was added to the original appropriation of $27,000 9/28/10. The two appropriations were consolidated in Auditors Office but only the spending from the original grant of $10,063.26 is reported here.

Acquisition of parcel 287 AFT Grove St. for Open Space purposes. An original appropriation for an appraisal $1,600 6/26/12, was changed to a "highest and best use" appraisal appropriation of $5,000. The final spending for these was $5,000. The appropriation 10/29/13 for the acquisition was $82,500 of which $75,000 was spent in August, 2014. The total spending will be shown for two appropriations of $5,000 in FY 2014 and eventually $80,000 when shown as completed in FY 2015. Gore Place Society will select a more suitable site, rehabilitate the building, then move its historic carriage house. This project has been completed and requests for reimbursement expected in early FY2015. The final reimbursement occurred about 3/28/15.

This is the 3rd Appropriation for the Wellington House. #31903 4/8/13 $160,000. The intent was to complete the details for possible use of the Waltham Historical Commission (WHC) for office space and museum purposes. As of FY 2014 spending was $67,198 with $31,562 encumbered and $61,240 available.The previous Appropriations will be consolidated with this one when they are all complete.

Replace existing Leland Home Roof. This project was completed in August 2014, FY 2015.

During long term efforts to acquire the Fernald School property, an initial request was Recommended by the CPC and appropriated by City Council Orders#31308 and 31309 on April 13, 2010 for planning for the surplus of the Fernald, of which $9850 was spent.. The Mayor negotiated a price for the Fernald which subsequently was Recommended by the CPC for a portion of the property and appropriated by the City Council on City Council Order #33161 for $2,714,331.80 on December 9, 2014. Future projects for CPA funds will be added as appropriated. Property is 190 acres total, 140 of which were purchased with CPA funds, (50 acres are non-CPA). Seller: Commonwealth of MA. A Tenant Based Rental Assistance Program (TBRA) initiated by the Waltham Association to Create Housing (WATCH) was co-sponsored by the Waltham Housing Authority (WHA) . The WHA became the sole program administrator with WATCH assisting renters with TBRA applications. The grant of $2,001,500.00 is a 3 year pilot program which will provide subsidies as vouchers to landlords to supplement the affordable rent paid by an estimated 50 families living or working in Waltham..

The historic Lyman Estate Greenhouses and handicap accessible trail were to be restored and left with similar historic appearances. A substantial benefit was that the previous technology was extremely wasteful of energy which was to be remediated. $165,900

CO#33482 $75,000 The Fernald Campus now owned by the City of Waltham will be reviewed to determine the historical significance of each existing building according to the Secretary of the Interior Standards and what condition (contributing) they are in currently.

Council Order #33549 A request was made to the Mayor for acquisition of the parcel for a riverside "pocket park" in the limited open space in the South side area. $695,750
