The Memorial Pool Renovation will include replacing the sand filters, expanding the concession area, improving accessibility throughout the facility, and adding amenities to enhance the recreational value of the pool.

The Westport River Dredging Project will allow the restoration of the Westport Point Historic District Waterways. The monies will be used to deepen the area now known as the mud dock, west of Lees Wharf, and to dredge the area west of the town docks, up to and including the harbormaster dock.

As part of an 80 acre open space purchase (see open space section) the town will require a deed restriction on a historic duplex adjacent to the property purchased. This will result in two permanent affordable units but not on this property. Property is adjacent to the high school, and will be used for passive and active recreation. Seller: Leonard Santos. Phase I of this project is for the restoration of the barn and carriage shed tin roofs to protect them from further deterioration. It also includes re-shingling of the south roof of the carriage shed with red cedar.

For restoration of Town Hall.

To 1) redefine the needs assessment by researching information on some of Westport's housing stock where information is missing in the Assessor's database, in order to enhance the accuracy of assessment and better develop a housing strategy; and 2) conduct a comprehensive revision of Westport's zoning to enable the implementation of the Master Plan and Housing Strategy. Part 2 is incomplete.

For the preservation of medical records from Dr. Handy dating back from about 1790 to 1840, and also materials from Alexander Hicks, a whale ship owner.

To create a durable map collection for the Westport Library. The maps will help verify the location of early roads, churches, cemeteries, mills, houses, and schools. The project also includes the creation of a storage device for numerous scrolls.

For Phase II of historic signs project.

To preserve and restore the last remaining one room schoolhouse in Westport, built in 1833. After the restoration of this privately owned building, the Town will have access to it through a historic preservation restriction and students of all ages will be given the opportunity to visit and learn more of our Town's past. The Massachusetts Historical Commission has stated that the Wolf Pit School is eligible for listing on the National Register of Historic Places.

Partially fund purchase of conservation restriction on Gonet property. The property, which has extensive frontage on both roads, consists of farm fields with great scenic, agricultural, and historic value. To acquire a parcel of land for open space purposes. The Wood Farm parcels is part of a 400+acre farm block which includes the Santos Farm, the Souza farm, the Sharples farm, Reposa farm, and is adjacent to the Oscar Palmer Farm and the Hadfield property. Contiguous open space extends to Cornell Road. Map 77/3. Purchase of Perry Farm to be used for Affordable Housing Development. Second phase will be final funding for this purchase.

Community Housing new site development, to begin preliminary and development of town owned land, for affordable home rental or ownership. $16290.61 was used for this project. The remainder $26,459.61 was transferred to the Affordable Housing Trust and will be reported upon its expenditure.

The Westport Fishermen's Association is in the process of restoring Life Saving Station No. 69. This station was built in 1888 by the Massachusetts Humane Society, which was formed in response to a need to assist shipwreck survivors.When completed, this project will provide a Visitor's Center available for town and school use. Funding for this project were approved at the May 1, 2007 Town Meeting and the May 6, 2008 Special Town Meeing.

Final payment to acquire property adjacent to existing town owned property, to form the Noquochoke Village Community Housing Project. The total amount paid for this property was $750,000 in two years.

This building was formerly known as the Head of Westport School constructed in the early 1900's. While the interior has undergone extensive renovations, the exterior has changed little since being built. This project is to provide automatic door openers, for wheelchair and restricted mobility access.

To purchase affordable housing and CR on property known as the Oscar Palmer Farm, one of the oldest farms in the area. Land aquired by the Trustees of Reservations. CR is currently being pursued.

This school was built circa 1840 and served as a school until 1933, when it was leased to the American Legion. the project is proposed in two phases: the firstis to restore the main school room to its original usable condition. This phase will be funded this year (FY09) and phase two, to make the structure comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act, will be presented at a later date.

This historic building is also known as the Milton E. Earle School. The project entails the restoration of interior hardwood floors, inthe two main hallways; and the exterior building trim, poarch, and gutter system.
